A Revival For Our Times - 1

Throughout history there have been several religious movements that have created great revivals. But in the last days, we are told that just before the third angel's message becomes the loud cry, the enemy will began a false revival that will move large crowds. This event is now being fulfilled.

In recent days there have been revivals where "mega" churches meet, baptizing thousands, collecting millions of dollars, and performing signs and wonders through the supposed outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

We will start a mini series relating to this event, which has the purpose of unmasking the spirit behind it. Furthermore, we will see what we should be doing to prepare for the true revival which will really soon light the world with the help of the Holy Spirit.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders. 2 Thessalonians 2:8, 9.

We'll detail the spirit that is revealed through the messages that are presented (commonly called the gospel of prosperity), the form of worship (especially the music), the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (miracles and speaking in tongues) and why so many are attracted by these movements.

But most importantly we will see the true revival guided by the Holy Spirit, which will convince the world of sin, focus on Jesus as the only means of salvation and prepare the human race for His soon return.

The holiness of God will be revealed in the true form of worship and biblical principles with an emphasis on His perfect law. The true character of God will be reflected in the lives of all those who are part of this great spiritual revival which will soon manifest with great power.

Remember that it is towards these saints (Revelation 12:17; 14:12) that Satan's hatred for God will be directed.

Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time to prepare a people for the Lord's second coming. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work; and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power he will make it appear that God's special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest. Multitudes will exult that God is working marvelously for them, when the work is that of another spirit. Under a religious guise, Satan will seek to extend his influence over the Christian world.*

Despite this, we can be sure that God is always with us. All those who deny themselves and take up His cross daily, will find the peace that their soul so desperately needs.

And it shall come to pass that; whoever calls on the name of the LORD; shall be saved. Joel 2:32.
