And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14
There will be a short period of preaching in between the sign to leave the cities and the close of probation. When Sunday laws are legislated in this country we must leave the big cities. But the Lord will still retain the winds for a little while longer to allow the loud cry.
While the work of salvation is closing, trouble will be coming on the earth, and the nations will be angry, yet held in check so as not to prevent the work of the third angel. At that time the "latter rain," or refreshing from the presence of the Lord, will come, to give power to the loud voice of the third angel, and prepare the saints to stand in the period when the seven last plagues shall be poured out. *1
Bear in mind that this triple final message must be preached to all. The righteous judgments of God grant everyone the opportunity to obtain Jesus as their lawyer.
Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— Revelation 14:6
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1
There will be no one to whom this message will not reach.
The message of the renewing power of God's grace will be carried to every country and clime, until the truth shall belt the world. Of the number of them that shall be sealed will be those who have come from every nation and kindred and tongue and people. From every country will be gathered men and women who will stand before the throne of God and before the Lamb, crying, "Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb." Revelation 7:10. *2
This includes the cities where the judgments of God will specifically be poured over.
The solemn, sacred message of warning must be proclaimed in the most difficult fields and in the most sinful cities, in every place where the light of the great threefold gospel message has not yet dawned. Every one is to hear the last call to the marriage supper of the Lamb. From town to town, from city to city, from country to country, the message of present truth is to be proclaimed, not with outward display, but in the power of the Spirit. *2
After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. Revelation 18:1
Soon it will be the prophecies of the eighteenth chapter of Revelation. During the proclamation of the third angel's message "another angel" fall "from heaven with great power, and the earth" will be "illuminated with his glory." The Spirit of the Lord bless you so richly enshrined human instruments, where men, women and children will open their lips in praise and thanksgiving, filling the earth with the knowledge of God and His unsurpassed glory as the waters cover the sea. * 3
Those who have held the beginning of their confidence firm unto the end will be wide-awake during the time that the third angel's message is proclaimed with great power. During the loud cry, the church, aided by the providential interpositions of her exalted Lord, will diffuse the knowledge of salvation so abundantly that light will be communicated to every city and town. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of salvation. So abundantly will the renewing Spirit of God have crowned with success the intensely active agencies, that the light of present truth will be seen flashing everywhere. *3
But this time will be very brief.
My attention was then called from the scene. There seemed to be a little time of peace. Once more the inhabitants of the earth were presented before me; and again everything was in the utmost confusion. Strife, war, and bloodshed, with famine and pestilence, raged everywhere. Other nations were engaged in this war and confusion. War caused famine. Want and bloodshed caused pestilence. And then men's hearts failed them for fear, "and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth." *1
The “small time of trouble" will be a time of great trouble and difficulty, but it will also be a time in which the Holy Spirit will be poured with power in order to give one last chance to those who had not yet heard the Bible truths.
These events will also last provide the faithful a last chance to prepare for the terrible time of trouble that will soon come. It will cause the righteous to unite under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
I was shown the inhabitants of the earth in the utmost confusion. War, bloodshed, privation, want, famine, and pestilence were abroad in the land. As these things surrounded God's people, they began to press together, and to cast aside their little difficulties. Self-dignity no longer controlled them; deep humility took its place. Suffering, perplexity, and privation caused reason to resume its throne, and the passionate and unreasonable man became sane, and acted with discretion and wisdom. *1
Seeing that time is short and that the Lord is coming soon, now is the time to preach. Today is the day in which we must cry out for the latter rain.
A crisis is right upon us. We must now by the Holy Spirit's power proclaim the great truths for these last days. It will not be long before everyone will have heard the warning and made his decision. Then shall the end come. *2
The preparation starts today. The Lord promises us a power that will compare to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time to prepare a people for the Lord's second coming. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work; and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power he will make it appear that God's special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest. Multitudes will exult that God is working marvelously for them, when the work is that of another spirit. Under a religious guise, Satan will seek to extend his influence over the Christian world. *4
The only thing that will keep us standing will be the Bible promises and a complete transformation of our lives through Jesus. The false revival is happening now. Thousands are being baptized and attending churches that are part of Babylon. Under the guise of light, the enemy has deceived these people who think they have the blessing of God but have continued their worldly and sinful lives.
The real outpouring of the Holy Spirit will always lead to a transformation. It leads man to be sanctified and obtain a noble the character. The Christian reflects that which he contemplates, Jesus. This genuine conversion is what will provide the strength to stand firm during these difficult times.
The message will be carried not so much by argument as by the deep conviction of the Spirit of God. The arguments have been presented. The seed has been sown, and now it will spring up and bear fruit…Now the rays of light penetrate everywhere, the truth is seen in its clearness, and the honest children of God sever the bands which have held them. *5
JESUS IS COMING SOON, AMEN, YES, COME LORD JESUS!
