Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Corinthians 14:40.What is the proper way to worship God? When is the Holy Spirit poured over us? Does God always manifest Himself in our chuches?
These are just some of the questions that we can make considering the revival that is or will take place in our days. God is a holy God. We need to remember this fact. The Psalmist tells us:
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10.Music
The things you have described...the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing...And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit. *1
The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time...A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of Satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit's working...Those participating in the supposed revival receive impressions which lead them adrift. They cannot tell what they formerly knew regarding Bible principles. *1We must pause for a moment to consider the effect that such styles (of music with worldly rhythms) have on our senses, our minds and even our bodies.
If you were to find yourself before God this instant, would you trow yourself on the ground and roll all over the place shouting? or Would you adore with drums and strange rhythms of music that arouse the desire to dance? or Would you speak in strange and confusing ways, claiming that you speak in tongues?
On the contrary, if we were in heaven, before the power, the majesty, the glory to the creator of the universe, before the King of kings and Lord of lords, the only thing we could do is bow down on our knees and be still knowing that he is God!
Isn't that the kind of worship that the angels, the beings who have never fallen, give God? Why then should we worship Him differently?
We need to be on our guard, to maintain a close connection with Christ, that we be not deceived by Satan's devices. The Lord desires to have in His service order and discipline, not excitement and confusion. *1The Gift Of Tongues
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, 1 Corinthians 14:32, 33.The gift of tongues is exactly what it says it is. The gift of speaking in tongues. God is not a God of confusion. The Holy Spirit was poured over during the Pentecost and it gave the disciples the gift of tongues for a specific purpose.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Acts 2:4-8.Note that the confusion was because these simple men who had not gone to school or studied languages were speaking fluently in different languages.
Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” Acts 2:9-12.The disciples spoke in existing and known tongues and the wonderful workd of God. At no time was it mentioned that they spoke in strange, foreign and repetitious tongues that no one understands.
Some of these persons have exercises which they call gifts and say that the Lord has placed them in the church. They have an unmeaning gibberish which they call the unknown tongue, which is unknown not only by man but by the Lord and all heaven. Such gifts are manufactured by men and women, aided by the great deceiver. Fanaticism, false excitement, false talking in tongues, and noisy exercises have been considered gifts which God has placed in the Church. Some have been deceived here. The fruits of all this have not been good * 2The purpose for the pouring over of the Holy Spirit is so that we may preach the gospel with great power and so that it may prepare us to live in heaven.
The truth of God will never degrade, but will elevate the receiver, refine his taste, sanctify his judgment, and perfect him for the company of the pure and holy angels in the kingdom of God. *2
JESUS IS COMING SOON, AMEN, YES, COME LORD JESUS!
