Things That Eye Has Not Seen, Nor Ear Heard

What is heaven for you? I have often emphasized the fact that heaven is a real place. Our society has done its best to turn it into an imaginary place. A place only children can believe in. By doing this, man loses sight of the eternal. Two well-known verses, spoken by our Lord Jesus say,
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19, 20.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33.
These verses are commonly applied to material possessions and to work. But they are of wider application. Scripture tells us,
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21.
There is no need to explain everything that the word heart involves, as it is talking about our thoughts, our emotions, our desires, our wishes, our devotion.

But I ask, what is at the center of your heart? That is precisely is what the Lord wants to address in our lives today.
Jesus has brought heaven to view, and presents its glory to our eyes in order that eternity may not be dropped out of our reckoning. *1
The great Teacher gives man a view of the future world. He brings it, with its attractive possessions, within the range of his vision...If He can fasten the mind upon the future life and its blessedness, in comparison with the temporal concerns of this world, the striking contrast is deeply impressed upon the mind, absorbing the heart and soul and the whole being. *1
Contrasting this world of pain and suffering with what heaven will be like, how would we not be absorbed with eternal things? How would we not long to be and in heaven?

It will also serve as a daily help. It is the light at the end of the tunnel.
With eternal realities in view we will habitually cultivate thoughts of the presence of God. This will be a shield against the incoming of the enemy; it will give strength and assurance, and lift the soul above fear. Breathing in the atmosphere of heaven, we will not be breathing the malaria of the world. *1
What better thoughts can fill our minds than those of heaven?
Jesus comes to present the advantages and beautiful imagery of the heavenly, that the attractions of heaven shall become familiar to the thoughts, and memory's hall be hung with pictures of celestial and eternal loveliness. *1
Sitting at the feet of our Lord and hearing his voice. Reuniting with our families, our friends, our loved ones who taken by death, never to part again. Studying the mysteries of God. Seeing the children play with the lions and the  lambs. Meeting our guardian angel. Travelling to other worlds. Eating from the tree of life. Building our own houses, living forever. But even with all,
...as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

THE LORD IS COMING SOON, AMEN, YES, LORD JESUS COME!
