Which Is The True Church?

...even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27
Among the so many different religions that exist in this world, people ask which is the right one. In Christianity alone, there are a variety of denominations which sometimes share the same doctrines while at the same time establishing peculiar ones. Also, the god that is worshiped, is presented in different ways according to the fundamental beliefs of each religion.

Interestingly, if you ask anyone if their's is the one true church, they'll say yes.

Before determining what the qualities of the true church are lets look at the reasons and the processes by which individuals choose their church.

Perhaps most often, people are born in a home that already has a long descent within a certain religion. Since childhood many are raised under these principles and so they decide to stay within that religion, because of tradition, convenience or because they feel that is the one true church.

There are some who see in religion a source for getting what you want. For example, the prosperity gospel presents the idea that if you give to God he will give you more and more.

Others choose the church that best fits their needs. That is, the church that makes them feel good, that does not require serious commitments and that helps them feel emotionally satisfied. Even God must fit their lifestyle and principles are not established by the church or by God Himself but by the individual. Furthermore, some view their church as a social club on par with their status.

There are others who seek and seek because they are not satisfied with their current church. Maybe the leaders are not what they expected or the gospel that is presents is too superficial.

Finally, I believe faithfully that in all religions there are sincere and committed people to good. People who seek the truth or are trying to fulfill their spiritual duties according to their knowledge.

Why mention this? Because the first question we ought to ask, even before asking which is the true church is: what do I expect from my church?

In this series of studies, we shall discuss the purpose of the church and what God really expects of us through His Word.

We must understand that Jesus is the saviour. The church is the instrument that He uses to accomplish this mission.
...even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Ephesians 5:23
The church is the instrument that God uses to save mankind. It is like the ark that saved Noah and his family. But keep in mind that faith, trust and commitment to God was what led Noah to take action, to build the ark even in the midst of adversity and then receive the protection and salvation that God extended.

This is of utmost importance now that the people of God must prepare for the meeting of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

THE LORD IS COMING SOON, AMEN, YES, COME LORD JESUS!
