The Lord Is Coming Soon!

I am not surprised that there are so many websites explicitly devoted to criticizing Adventist and their beliefs. Nor am I surprised that some of these sites are hosted by ex-Adventists. We have been branded as a religion that preaches a message of fear, fear of things to come, fear of persecution. Unknowingly, by doing so, these people are fulfilling prophecy. The Bible tells us:
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24:37-39

How many people were saved? Only Noah and his small family. What condition was the world in, in Noah's time?
And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.. Genesis 6:3, 5
And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and behold it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then said God to Noah: I've decided the end of all, because the earth is filled with violence because of them, and behold, I will destroy the earth. Genesis 6:11-13
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8
Note that 120 years pass from the time Noah was told to build the ark until the destruction of the world! It was 120 years of preaching, 120 years of warning, 120 years of Noah foretelling the destruction of this world!
You can imagine the things that were said to Noah and his family every time he cut down a tree. The inspired pen tells us that Noah preached with each blow of his hammer.
Might they have called him crazy, fanatical, alarmist, for only preaching about destruction? Would they have asked why he did not preach about peace and love? Why did he not speak of God's mercy? Most likely he did speak of God mercy but he had a message from God which he preached with urgency even though the flood came 120 years later. Unfortunately, with 120 years of preaching only 8 people were saved!
The apostle Peter tells us,
knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water. 2 Peter 3:3-5
Remember that the apostles preached the second coming of Christ. How many years have passed since Peter wrote about the great day of the Lord? So he went on to say,
For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:5-9
Be assured that the Lord is coming, and although the world does not want to hear this we must continue to preach it! Otherwise, the Lord’s return will take us by surprise.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10
Our advice:

Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless. 2 Peter 3:11-14
Finally, we again are warned just as Jesus himself warned us,
…speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:16-18

JESUS IS COMING, AMEN, YES, COME LORD JESUS!
