Spiritual Half-heartedness

We truly need to recognize that we are living in the last chapters of the story of this world. I never tire of emphasizing that everything is already in place to quickly fulfill the last remaining events and then the Lord will come. What do we have to fear? What should be our greatest concern?

The best strategy that the enemy has is to keep us focused on ourselves. Sometimes we are afraid to speak about the work that the enemy does, but one must denounce such sins. While the people of God suffered persecution, the Lord always had a faithful remnant. The blood that was shed by early Christians was like a rapid germinating seed that produced even more fruit.

The fervor and conviction of the martyrs led others to have a genuine conversion. Knowing this, the enemy has now given a sleeping pill to church. Slowly he infiltrates his false doctrines. At the same time he keeps us busy with things of this world that we do not devote time to God. The focus is on us. The condition of Laodicea is neither cold nor hot but lukewarm.*1 Its members say:
I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing…*2
We are all in this condition, especially when things are going well. Very few are willing to make sacrifices or strive to serve the Lord. Our convictions concerning Bible truths are weak so when the winds of false doctrines blow we are easily deceived. When we are called to serve the Lord we think twice because we do not want to lose the comfort of our current condition. We truly think that we do not need anything. But the truth is that our present condition is terrible,
…thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. *2
But now that we know our current condition the question is, what will we do? Will we continue down the same road to perdition? Will we continue to focus on ourselves and the things of this world? Or will we heed the call of Jesus?
Therefore, I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. *3
Today is the day we advance in by faith. Today is the day in which we will be vested by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us cover our current shame with the robe of righteousness of Christ. Let us anoint our eyes that we may see what is happening before us. Let us recognize what we really are, in order to be transformed into perfection and holiness through Jesus.

Unfortunately, we usually only learn these lessons the hard way. The true and faithful witness continues saying,
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.* 4
There will be hard lessons, and God's people will suffer great anguish, but the final reward is priceless!
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.* 5

JESUS IS COMING SOON, AMEN, YES, COME LORD JESUS!
